A message from the Group Leader, Malcolm Hall:
Most people have been to a Barn Dance at least once in their lives, and hopefully enjoyed it. This is much the same but we draw on different dances from around the world and also from history, learning English dances that were danced centuries ago. Our main aim is to have fun (perfection of performance is not sought, just enjoyment!) If you would like to give it a try, you will be made most welcome.
What’s the format of the sessions? Dances are walked through one or two times and then danced to a call and to live music from local talented musicians.
Is there a set programme? Each session will introduce new dances and also repeat some past favourites.
Do I need any prior knowledge or experience? No, none needed.
Do I need to bring anything to the sessions? Flat shoes, otherwise casual clothing is fine.
